The Milky Way is proud to offer home visits for pediatric bodywork for babies age newborn to one years old. 

 

This is a gentle blend of Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release Techniques, developed by Dr. Barry Gillespie of The Gillespie Approach, designed to unwind and release accumulated fascial (connective tissue) strain.  This technique has helped babies and children with:

What is Fascia?  It is an all encompassing web of connective tissue found throughout the body that structurally supports and protects the entire body as a whole.  It is also a transport system that helps nourish and detoxify the body as well.  During birth and throughout our life, this system can become damaged causing tension throughout this all encompassing connective web.  A healthy fascial system allows for the free flow of fluid from the brain, down the spine, and into the fascial tissues within the body.  CFT techniques are intended to address strain patterns in the body, but more importantly these techniques directly address the effect the strain pattern has on the craniosacral system.  Once the craniosacral system is free from restriction and the nourishing fluid achieves an optimal flow, the body is better able to heal and balance itself.  

 

This work has been very helpful for the families that I have worked with in the past and now I would like to continue offering my services to mothers and babies in the comfort of their homes.
